Review SAC Talk on Space: Opportunities and Challenges in the New Race to Space & the Stratosphere.

On 25 June 2018, the Swiss Aerospace Cluster organized its first SAC Space Talk in collaboration with next! by buckenmaier. More than 40 participants from industry and academia gathered at the Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich to learn more about developments in space & the stratosphere. The evening also provided first-hand information on the status of the development and the future vision of the Innovation Park directly from their Managing Director, René Kalt.

The keynote delivered by Stefan Buckenmaier, Founder & CEO of next! by buckenmaier, provided an overview of the Global Space Landscape and the ongoing disruptive changes. Stefan shared his insights into business opportunities and challenges for companies who want to enter or grow in those sectors. The view on markets and trends was complemented by Roman Schönbächler, CEO of Micos Engineering, who shared his experience in working on challenging projects with the European Space Agency (ESA) and large prime contractors. His company is a successful ABB spin-off that designs and manufactures complex Remote Sensing instruments for satellites. The event closed with an outlook on future activities of the Swiss Aerospace Cluster and an informal networking apéro.
