Daedalean creates safety-critical AI systems for situational awareness and flight control, with the eventual goal of developing certified autonomy in the air. The company was founded in 2016 by Luuk van Dijk and Anna Chernova and currently has offices in Zürich, Switzerland; Riga, Latvia; and Phoenix, Arizona (US). The team is 100+ people, including 14 PhDs and 9 pilots, and has expertise in machine learning, robotics, computer vision, path planning, software engineering, certification, safety assessment, and flight testing. Daedalean is partnering with avionics system providers to bring to the market the first-ever machine learning-based avionics systems.
