Cucuyo declared aim is to bring laser communication terminals to the market as an off-the-shelf product. Areas of application include all types of data connections that are currently realized with radio, which is becoming increasingly problematic due to limited transmission frequencies. Laser communication is particularly suitable for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) which transmit large amounts of data and require resilient communication (jamming, spoofing, localization). The first product P-100 will be the world’s smallest aerial laser terminal. Energy consumption, weight and data rate are dimensioned accordingly. The first Cucuyo P-100 prototypes are being tested from end of Q1 2024.
