Founded in 2008 by Dr. Wolfgang Berns and renamed into BERNS Engineering Consulting GmbH (BEC) in 2011, BEC is specialised in Systems, Systems Safety, Reliability and Security Engineering Consulting with a particular focus on Aviation. Together with its affiliate company BERNS Engineers (Germany), BEC provides a unique “Safety”-ecosystem in collaboration with the “Robust and Safe Systems” (ROSAS) Center at the University of Applied Sciences Fribourg (HEIA-FR). The focus of the BEC activities in Aviation lies in project consultancy in Safety, Reliability and Security assessments adhering to the associated processes required by the aviation authorities for manned and unmanned aircraft systems.
