In Memoriam: SAC President Roland Hengartner

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our long-serving President, Roland Hengartner, on April 11th. He died peacefully at home.

It is a great loss to the Swiss aerospace community. We lost a leader, a valued colleague, and a friend.

Roland generously gave his time in service to the community, even up to the end of his long-term illness. We are profoundly touched and grateful.

Roland was a key person in SAC from the very first day, 15 years ago. He served as the first Working Group leader, founding the Supply Chain group. A few years later in 2016, he joined the Board and was elected President, the first industry person to be entrusted with this role, with the needed inclusivity and neutrality. Roland brought a folksy, local style to the SAC, putting a human face on the industry cluster, to turn it into a true community.

Our sincere condolences to his loved ones. His legacy, the many lives he positively impacted, will endure.

In Gedenken an Roland Hengartner
